Hematopoiesis

Hematopoiesis is the process of blood cell development. Stem cells in the red bone marrow give rise to all formed elements (red and white blood cells and platelets). Myeloid cells produce all (including erythrocytes and platelets) but lymphocytes. Lymphoid cells produce lymphocytes (which includes NK cells).
